cPort Credit Union ribbon-cutting ceremony
It’s official! The fifth and latest cPort Credit Union formally opened its doors for business with a ribbon-cutting ceremony earlier this week, after a soft opening in December 2018.
This latest cPort project differs from other cPort branches—and many banking branches in general—by being a pedestrian branch. This decision supports Portland’s downtown trend for reducing reliance on motorized vehicles. With no drive-thru, this branch instead offers its members a bike rack for convenient bike storage when visiting the building, along with handicap accessible sidewalk entries. One fun design element is the cPort’s logo that is projected onto the red brick sidewalk.
Congratulations to Gene Ardito (President & CEO of cPort Credit Union), Landry/French Construction and Gawron Turgeon Architects’ own Deirdre Pio.
